Ballarat Base Hospital Redevelopment

The $655 million Ballarat Base Hospital redevelopment – the city’s largest infrastructure project – is now in its third and final stage. This will deliver:  

  • a new multi-level tower, including a new emergency department with an integrated mental health, alcohol and other drugs hub 
  • a new and expanded critical care floor, with a state-of-the-art operating theatre suite, procedure rooms, an expanded intensive care unit, endoscopy suites and consulting rooms 
  • capacity for an extra 4,000 surgeries every year 
  • a new women and children's hub 
  • an extra 100 inpatient and short stay beds  
  • a new helipad

Artists invited to contribute to the interior of Ballarat Base Hospital’s new main tower!

Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the four art packages for the Ballarat Base Hospital’s new main tower have now closed.

Thank you to all those who submitted an EOI.

All submissions are now under review and artists will be contacted with the outcome once the evaluation process has been completed.
