Damian is an experienced healthcare executive with more than 22 years of leadership experience across the public and private not-for-profit health sectors.

He was appointed as Barwon Health's inaugural Chief Information Officer, where he led the integration of information technology services across multiple campuses. He subsequently served as General Manager, Surgical Services from 2002 to 2007, with responsibility for one of Victoria's largest regional surgical programs.  In 2007, Damian joined Epworth HealthCare, Victoria's largest not-for-profit private healthcare provider, as Executive Director of Epworth Freemasons. In 2014, he was appointed Chief Executive of Epworth Geelong, where he led the planning, development, commissioning and operation of the 250-bed private hospital located adjacent to Deakin University at Waurn Ponds. During his tenure at Epworth, he also held executive responsibility for the organisation's Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology services.

Damian began his career in management consulting with Arthur Andersen and later KPMG before joining Barwon Health. In 2020, he returned to KPMG as a Partner in Management Consulting, leading the Victorian Health practice and advising governments, health services and private sector organisations on strategy, transformation, infrastructure and service redesign.  Damian is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He currently serves as Deputy Chair of Basketball Australia and has previously served as a Director of Wesley Mission Victoria and the G21 Geelong Region Alliance.
