Graduate Trainee programs
Our graduate programs support new graduates as they transition to professional practice. These programs enable you to consolidate and further develop knowledge, skills, confidence and clinical competence with supervision and guidance. They provide a strong foundation for developing safe, confident, and accountable health professionals.
Graduate programs available
Overview
We offer a Graduate Transition Program – Registered Nurse which develops confidence, clinical competence, and skills in the varied role of a registered nurse. A wide range of clinical areas are on offer for you to work in during your transition year, which provide diverse clinical experiences.
You will:
- broaden your skills with rotations across many dynamic and challenging patient care areas
- embrace nursing research and learn through evidence-based practice, teamwork, and openness
- experience high-level clinical support from dedicated clinical support nurses
- work in an environment that values teaching and learning
We accept around 75 program participants annually, across our campuses. The program includes a 4-day orientation study block and 6 professional development days throughout the year. Graduates will have 4 days of supernumerary time in each clinical area and regular debrief sessions. Graduate nurses are employed at 0.8-1.0 EFT.
Locations
This program is available at Ballarat, Horsham, Dimboola, Stawell and Edenhope.
