Y-Zetts donate $10,000 to Stawell Hospital Foundation
The Stawell Y-Zetts have donated $10,000 to the Stawell Hospital Foundation, marking the conclusion of more than 50 years of fundraising and community support.
Raised through the group's local Shopping Spree fundraiser, the donation will benefit the Stawell community through the Stawell Hospital Foundation.
Former Y-Zetts President Meg Blake said the donation reflected decades of fundraising and volunteer effort.
"Over the past 50 years, the Stawell community has generously supported Y-Zetts fundraising activities, and this donation reflects that collective effort," Ms Blake said.
"This donation is the culmination of many years of support from the Stawell community, and members are proud to see those funds continue to benefit local healthcare."
Y-Zetts members unanimously agreed the donation be made in memory of Joan Brilliant.
A former Y-Zetts President, Board member of Stawell Regional Health, and past President and member of the Stawell Hospital Foundation, Ms Brilliant dedicated many years of service to local healthcare.
"Joan was a dear friend, a passionate supporter of local healthcare and a tireless volunteer," Ms Blake said.
"She gave so much of her time and energy to causes that strengthened our community, and it was fitting that we honoured her memory through this donation."
Stawell Hospital Foundation Chair Graeme Ellen thanked the Y-Zetts for their generous donation.
"The Foundation is honoured to receive this donation and invest it for the benefit of the Stawell community," Mr Ellen said.
"It is a fitting legacy for a group that has contributed so much to local healthcare over many years."
Grampians Health Chief Executive Officer Dale Fraser said community support played an important role in helping Grampians Health deliver high-quality care close to home.
"We sincerely thank the Y-Zetts for their remarkable contribution and longstanding commitment to supporting health services in Stawell," Mr Fraser said.
"Donations made through the Stawell Hospital Foundation help strengthen local healthcare and enhance the care and experiences we provide for our communities."
This donation supports Grampians Health's commitment to working in partnership with communities to deliver sustainable, high-quality healthcare and improved health outcomes close to home.
Community donations continue to play an important role in supporting the Stawell campus of Grampians Health, helping enhance local healthcare services, facilities and equipment.
