Blood pressure monitoring
Blood pressure monitoring is a safe and non-invasive test run over 24 hours. It will measure your heart rate and blood pressure at regular intervals.
Who we care for
We provide services to anyone requiring Blood Pressure Monitoring.
What you can expect
To monitor your blood pressure, a cuff is placed on your arm. This is connected to a device that inflates the cuff automatically. You might feel some discomfort when the cuff squeezes your arm, but this is normal.
Inflation occurs every half hour during the day and every hour overnight. You'll wear the cuff for 24 hours and return it to Diagnostic Services the next day. You do not need to stay in hospital over the 24 hours that the test takes place.
Please note:
- You cannot shower while wearing the monitor, so it's best to shower before your appointment.
- Wear loose upper clothing to accommodate the cuff.
- This is a non-Medicare rebateable test, a charge applies. We will advise you of the cost upon booking.
