Overview
The Eating Disorder Multidisciplinary Clinic includes a specialist team of doctors, dietitians, a psychologist, psychiatrists, and nurses who work together to provide specialty multidisciplinary assessments and treatment for those presenting with disordered eating challenges.
Referral process
Referrals are made by a GP to either the:
- Adult Eating Disorder Clinic (for those aged 18 and over), or
- the Paediatric Eating Disorder Clinic (for those under 18).
To refer to clinic the following steps need to be completed by a GP:
- complete the SMART referral template (see GP Assessment Guide below.)
- fax the completed referral template to Speciality Outpatient Clinics on (03) 5320 4822.
- For those under the age of 18 please address to one of the following Paediatricians: Dr. David Tickell, Dr. Jenna Pyper or Dr. Meg Freeman.
- To refer those aged 18 and over please address to Adult Eating Disorder Multidisciplinary Clinic. The clinic includes medical, dietetic and psychology input.
Following receipt of a referral:
- If accepted a letter will be sent to the client and GP. If declined a letter will be sent to the GP.
- Immediate needs are assessed and supports put in place.
- Clients are waitlisted for baseline assessment and followed by a clinic appointment.
- A copy of the clinic letters will be faxed to the referrer/GP.
