General Paediatric Outpatient Clinics (Ballarat)

The General Paediatric Clinics provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and management for children and young people with a range of medical, developmental and behavioural concerns.

Who we care for

We care for infants, children and adolescents up to 18 years of age who require specialist paediatric assessment or ongoing care.

What you can expect

At your appointment, a paediatric specialist or member of the paediatric team will discuss your child's health concerns, medical history, growth and development.

As Grampians Health is a teaching health service, you may also be seen by medical trainees, including Registrars and Residents, under appropriate supervision.

Depending on your child's needs, the clinician may examine your child, recommend treatment, arrange investigations, or refer to other services.

Some children may also receive support from other members of the healthcare team, such as nursing, allied health or social work staff.

Families will receive information about their child's condition and a plan for ongoing care, which may include follow-up appointments.

Referrals and access

  • A GP referral is required to access our outpatient clinics (please see For Health Professionals information)
  • Referrals are triaged by clinical urgency, which determines the wait time for an appointment
