Holter monitoring
A Holter monitor records the rate and rhythm of your heart. It is used to diagnose abnormal heart rhythms and investigate symptoms like palpitations, dizziness, and fluttering heartbeats.
Who we care for
We provide services to anyone needing a Holter monitor test.
What you can expect
A Holter monitor is a small device with 5 leads attached to your chest with stickers. It is usually worn for 24 hours, though longer studies may be performed in special circumstances. After wearing it for the required time, the monitor is returned to our Diagnostics team.
The test is non-invasive, painless, and safe. There is no preparation needed.
If you have any allergies to band-aids or sensitive skin, please inform the Cardiac Technician applying your monitor.
Please note:
- Avoid using electric blankets as they can cause interference
- You cannot shower while wearing this monitor. It is ideal to have a shower before your appointment.
