Our respiratory team manages generalised and specialised lung conditions.
Who we care for
We care for people with a respiratory illness, both in hospital and through specialist outpatient clinics.
What you can expect
We provide care in the following areas:
- General respiratory medicine
- Severe airways disease including asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and bronchiectasis
- Interstitial lung disease, including pulmonary fibrosis
- Lung cancer diagnosis
- Home oxygen therapy
- Diagnostic bronchoscopy
- Endobronchial ultrasound
- Lung function testing
We currently run 4 different outpatient clinics, held weekly:
- Rapid Access Lung Cancer Clinic (RALCC)
- Oxygen Clinic
- Complex Respiratory Clinic
- General Respiratory Clinic
You will be placed in the clinic that best caters for your condition, based on your GP referral.

Monday mornings (9.00am – 12.00pm) located on level 1, Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC)
Oxygen Clinic
Monday afternoons (1:30pm – 4:30pm) located on level 3, Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC)
Complex Respiratory Clinic
Thursday mornings (9.00am – 12.00pm) located on 4 West, Ballarat Base Hospital
General Respiratory Clinic
Thursday afternoons (1:30pm – 4:30pm) located on 3 West, Ballarat Base Hospital
Referrals and access
- For outpatient care, consult your GP for a referral.
- If your matter is urgent, or you feel very unwell, present to the Emergency Department or call an ambulance.
- For complex cases we may collaborate with specialist centres in Melbourne to provide the care you need.
