Rural Outreach Program

The Rural Outreach Program provides free mental health and wellbeing support to people living in rural and regional communities across the Wimmera Southern Mallee Shires. Our team can come to you at home, on the farm, or anywhere you feel safe and comfortable. We can also provide support via phone or Telehealth.

Who we care for

The program aims to improve the wellbeing of community members who are struggling with tough times, guiding you through the services that are available to help.

Our Rural Outreach Workers can help when:

  • times get tough
  • you need a trusted person to talk with
  • you are concerned about someone
  • you need someone for support and guidance
  • or you just need a friendly ear on the phone

What you can expect

We’re here to listen, offer early support, and help connect you with the right services before things become overwhelming.

Our team works closely with local providers to support people experiencing psychological distress or early signs of mental ill health. We offer immediate, short-term support and help you connect with the appropriate services quickly.

Anyone in the Wimmera Southern Mallee region can request a wellbeing check for themselves or someone they’re concerned about.

All conversations are confidential and judgment-free, and support is available at no cost.

Please note that we do not provide clinical or therapeutic treatment. We focus on early support, connection, and referral to the right services.
