X-ray services
An X-ray (radiograph) uses a small dose of radiation to take pictures of bones and other internal tissues, like lungs and bowel.
The images show different parts of your body in shades of black and white.
Who we care for
We provide services to anyone needing an X-ray.
What you can expect
You may need to remove metal objects, such as jewellery, watches, keys, and coins, as they can show up on an X-ray.
Pregnancy
If you are, or think you might be, pregnant, please tell your doctor and radiographer. X-rays can be harmful to an unborn baby, so an alternative test may need to be done.
Referrals and access
- A referral is required from your GP or medical specialist to make your appointment. Please bring this with you to your appointment.
- We accept referrals and requests from all imaging providers.
- Non-urgent results are sent to your referring doctor within 2 working days. We cannot give your results directly to you.
