Post-graduate programs

Our postgraduate programs offer career development opportunities for nurses. These clinically focused courses are offered in partnership with universities.

Overview

Postgraduate programs are available in steams of:

  • Acute
  • Cancer Care

  • Cardiac Care
  • Emergency
  • Gerontology
  • Midwifery
  • Neonatal
  • Oncology
  • Paediatrics

Each course runs for 12 months. Postgraduate nurses are assessed on both academic work and clinical performance during this time.

Applicants are employed on a limited tenure contract between 0.6 and 0.84 EFT for 52 weeks in your specialty area. This enables you to meet the clinical requirements set by each university.  The academic year generally runs on a calendar year and comprises two semesters. Learners complete attend lectures either face to face or online.

Specialist educators are located in each area and facilitate the participants' clinical learning by implementing clinical assessments, completing performance appraisals and supporting the clinical and professional growth of the learner in each area.
