Exercise programs

Exercise programs are offered as part of the Community Social Support Group in Edenhope. The programs focus on supporting individuals with their health, wellbeing, and social connections.

Our programs cater to all ages and fitness levels. 

What you can expect

Our current classes available are:

Aerobic and strength training to improve flexibility, muscular strength, and cardiovascular fitness.  

  • Tuesday 9.30am, Apsley RSL  
  • Tuesday 11.15am, Elsie Bennett Community Centre  
  • Thursday 8.45am, Elsie Bennett Community Centre   

Hatha Yoga for everybody to build strength, flexibility, peace of mind. 

  • Tuesday 4.00pm, Elsie Bennett Community Centre  

Long holds and mat-based postures that stretch out the connective tissues in the body; meditative and relaxing.  

  • Thursday 5.00pm, Elsie Bennett Community Centre  

‘Pump it up’, exercise, stretching and strength training to improve flexibility, muscular strength, and cardiovascular fitness.  

  • Wednesday 8.30am, Elsie Bennett Community Centre  
  • Friday 8.30am, Elsie Bennett Community Centre  

Develops muscle tone, strength and flexibility, and breathing. Mostly mat-based.   

  • Wednesday 4.45pm, Elsie Bennett Community Centre  

Exercise program using gym equipment and group strength training for those with chronic disease or risk of chronic disease.  

  • Wednesday 10.30am, Elsie Bennett Community Centre  

Cost

A small fee applies for this program. The community health nurse will explain any costs during your first visit. 

Referrals and access

  • Referrals can come from individuals, families, health professionals, and regional services.
