Movement Disorder Nurse

The Movement Disorder Nurse provides specialist nursing care for people living with movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), and Multiple System Atrophy (MSA).

Who we care for

Support is available to anyone with a diagnosed movement disorder, whether they are at home, in hospital (including the Emergency Department), or in residential aged care.  

What you can expect

The Movement Disorder Nurse can be accessed at any stage of your condition — from initial diagnosis through to advanced stages. The Nurse can also provide information, support, and links to other appropriate services. 

This service is available to anyone: 

  • aged 18 years or older 
  • living in one of the serviced areas*  
  • with a diagnosed movement disorder 

*Serviced areas cover Hindmarsh Shire Council, Horsham Rural City Council, and West Wimmera Shire Council.

Referrals and access

  • Referrals should be sent through to Horsham Central Intake. 
  • There is no fee for this service.
