Paediatric Services (Ballarat)

Grampians Health Ballarat offers 24/7 specialty paediatrics and neonatal (newborn) services for the majority of conditions, for those from newborn to 17 years.

Who we care for

Paediatric services includes a 20-bed Children's Ward in patient unit (2 South) and the 12-bed Special Care Nursery (5 West), as well as multiple general paediatric outpatient clinics per week and multiple subspecialty services.

What you can expect

We provide a comprehensive paediatric medical service staffed 24/7 by specialist paediatricians and paediatric trainees, caring for a range of acute inpatient and outpatient conditions, which include neonatal (newborn) care.

We also offer support to community based general practitioners and health services within the wider Grampians region, providing both remote advice as well as some face-to-face outreach services.

We have strong links with tertiary Melbourne based paediatric services, continuing to work towards kepping the majority of paediatric care within the Grampians region.

We only offer limited capacity for surgical conditions within paediatrics.
