Psychology
Our Psychology team helps people recover and adjust following illness, injury, or trauma; or to prepare for treatment such as surgery. It allows people to gain maximum benefit from specific health programs.
Who we care for
Our team works across all ages, providing psychology services to people:
- in inpatient care
- referred into community programs
- referred into outpatient programs
This includes psychological assessment, treatment, and intervention.
What you can expect
We provide clinical psychology, neuropsychology, and health psychology services in:

- inpatient subacute settings (rehabilitation, Geriatric Evaluation & Management (GEM), and palliative care)
- community programs
- a wide range of outpatient programs.

Referrals and access
- Referrals are required from a health professional. They must be submitted through Ballarat Central Intake.
- Referrals for inpatient and multidisciplinary services are received via internal team processes. You can speak to your treating team for details.
Referrals for neuropsychological assessment and intervention services such as GAINS for Kids and the Complex Neuropsychology Clinic are by specialist referral only (eg. paediatrician, psychiatrist, neurologist, geriatrician).
